Method 2 to disable new Facebook chat sidebar

Facebook rolled out new chat-bar few days ago,which most of Facebook users are hating a lot.And the reason being,it hasn’t got cool looks,take too much of space and shifts the whole Facebook page more to the left.Its kinda really useless and their is no official way to disable it and rollback to previous one.The worst part of it is this that they just are throwing this new chatbar onto people.I got this message from them to try new chatbar with only Try It Now option and I can’t see anywhere,the ‘X ‘ to close it and continue using older chatbar.

If you just want to hide this temporarily,you will find this setting in your chat-bar’s settings option,just like below image.

The other solution till now is as follows:

1.) You are required to have Mozilla Firefox for this to work.If you already have it installed on your PC,then keep on reading,else goto this link and download it first.

2.) Now you are required to install Adblock Plus.It is also very useful in other ways apart from blocking new facebook chatbar because it also blocks ads from being downloading and poping up.

3.) After installing Adblock Plus,restart Firefox and click on ABP icon in bottom left corner and select Preferences.

4.) Click on Add Filer and insert following piece of code in New Filter option:

facebook.com#div(id*=presence)

5.) Click OK and you will see,the new chat-bar is now disabled.

UPDATE

A more better one click solution to the problem has been found by Web Developer Jan!.After you will implement this,you will get the interface of old chatbar back which will show all of your online friends.Read on to know it:
*For this to work,you need to either have Google Chrome or Firefox installed on your machine.

*For Google Chrome users,click here to visit the script page & click on install button.

*For Firefox users,its not going to be that much simple.You first need to install Grease Monkey for your browser.So click here to visit Grease Monkey’s installation page and after it is done,click here to install the required script for using old chat back.
