Google+ tips and tricks

One of the most hot topics today is the new upcoming social website from google i.e. Google+ . We tried our hands on this new website which is pretty much good and have accumulated a lot of tricks which you guys can use for better experience.

So here they are…

1) Lot of people still finding a way to transfer their albums from Facebook to Google+

Simple just login to your facebook account and go this link

https://www.facebook.com/editaccount.php?drop

Scroll down and select Download your information and click submit and wait for some time Facebook team will mail you a link to download your photos, videos and other information.

When you get your download link via mail download your photos and videos and other information and upload to picasa and youtube accounts and say bye bye to Facebook..

2) Flip effect in Plus account Profile

Have you ever noticed a flip effect in your plus account profile picture?
Upload two or more images to your profile photo album and visit your profile and click on your profile image and see the effect.

3) Some formatting tips for Google+ users :-

-To bold your text, add an asterisk (*) before and after content. eg: *This will turn bold*

- To italic your text, add an underscore (_) before and after content. eg: _This will turn italic_

- To strike your text, add an hyphen (-) before and after content. eg: -This will be striked-

-For a line break: Use SHIFT + ENTER

-To tag a user, use + or @ followed by the profile name of the user.

4) Do you know?

• You can add a person to multiple circles by selecting their profile, draging and dropping them in to the circle!

• You can drag photos and videos from your desktop or folder and drop them into the Stream editor?

• You can send a personal message by Tagging only the people you want using @ or + and removing circles from the sharing option(if any)?

• You can share your thoughts in the Google+ stream via SMS by texting your update to 9222222222 (India). All you need to do is register your number here: https://plus.google.com/settings/plus

Note:- To avoid SMS spoofing add a security PIN

5) After you post, click the little dropdown arrow in the upper right of the post to disable comments or disable resharing (i.e., for things you don’t want to spread beyond your specified audience).

• Press “k” or “j” to move up or down in the stream.

• Press Tab then Enter after writing a comment on a post to quickly submit it. (faster than clicking the Post Comment button every time)

6) Google+ Tip - When you or someone disables resharing, two things happen. First, you can’t reshare (of course). Also, the dropdown will no longer have the “Link to this post” option, which is many times used just to open a post into a permalink to better take the time to read and respond, or get back to from a new tab.

So what’s a person to do with these private posts if you need that link or permalink? Just click on the Time/date stamp. There it is! You can use it without using the dropdown on share-able posts as well

7) Google+ CHAT Box tip - One of the nicer changes to the chat box here from the one in Gmail (the actual chat BOX that you are typing into) is, that you can grab the top or side of the chatbox and resize it! A huge improvement! That makes it so much easier to read, while not having to scroll to read a long message. Give it a try.
